Telescopic Handler, commonly known as the Telehandler works off the same principles as a counterbalance forklift. As with the counterbalance forklift, it has a counterweight at the rear allowing it to carry objects of similar weight, it has a boom which can extend and reach places a standard forklift can’t. Widely used on building sites and in the agriculture industry due to its ability to negotiate rough terrain with its specially adapted tyres and suspension where a forklift would struggle.
This course is designed to train and assess operators in the safe operation of Telehandlers, including the hazards and any precautions to be taken, also gaining up to date knowledge of current Legislation regarding Plant Machinery.
By the end of the course, candidates will be able to identify main components of the telehandler, operate the machine safely to a high standard in the working environment and understand current Legislation.
