First Aid Training Facility in West Lothian, Scotland

ITC Certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work SCQF Level 6

  • First Aid at Work (FAW), based on a minimum 3-day course.
  • Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW), based on a minimum 1-day course.

Learning First Aid can be rewarding and a valuable skill within the workplace and could save a life. Here at Blacks Training Solutions Ltd, we run a regular 1-day EFAW course.

We also offer ITC Certificate in Emergency First Aid at Work + F SCQF Level 6

Changes to Forestry Commission policy recommends those who work in the forestry industry should attend first aid training that covers additional topics relevant to the risk associated with their work. First-aiders on FC managed land must hold a valid certificate of competence in either:

Both qualifications have a 3-year certification period. Re-qualification for FAW must be done over a minimum of 2-days, and for EFAW a repeat of the 1-day course is required.

On FC managed land the preference for many of those needing training will be the EFAW course although some will require FAW. The decision between the two should largely be based on matching the skills you think you may need for your possible accidents/illnesses, to the course that gives you those skills.

Forestry Commission recommended topics include:

  • Catastrophic bleeding including chainsaw injuries
  • Crush Injuries
  • Hypothermia / Exposure
  • Lyme’s Disease

The above topics covered in addition to the standard syllabus.

We also offer this course through our DCPC Periodic Training. For those who require the +F element, extra time on top of the mandatory 7 hours would be needed.
